Though Emma played soccer last fall and spring, she was less than enthusiastic about it. She decided against playing this fall. But she has started wearing indoor soccer shoes to school. Why? Not because she’s excited about soccer shoes. Turns out, she knows how to tie her shoes. Holly was going through the girls’ shoes the other day when Emma slipped on a pair of tennis shoes and tied them. Turns out, Madysen showed her how a few weeks ago and she now ties non-stop–often untying her shoes so she can tie them again.
Layla is playing for a new team now that we’ve moved. Her new team, White Angels, had their first game last Thursday night. (I missed it as I was in NYC.) They lost, but Layla had a great time.
Madysen and Speed had more league games. Madysen played Saturday and from a casual watching of the game would have appeared to win by a big margin. Unfortunately, of the 25+ shots they took, only a handful were on goal and the East Texas Spirit keeper saved all of those–preserving the 0-0 tie. As opposed to last week when they were fortunate to tie, here they were unfortunate to only tie. But the unpredictable is what makes sports exciting.

Speed’s team was much more efficient against Texas Stampede. Of maybe five shots in the first half, they scored on three of them (Speed had two goals and one shot of the near post). They ended up winning 6-0; Speed had four goals. I got 0 pictures related to the goals.

Madysen took pictures in the second half. I have no idea what she was doing with some of these pictures.

I do think he had just missed a shot before this photo.

So Speed has four goals and two assists in two games, while Madysen’s entire team has only 3 goals in three games. Can you feel Speed’s head swelling? Yeah, me too.
