Hackensack, NJ Is No Palm Springs [Travel]

From one vacation spot on Monday to something less than a vacation spot on Wednesday and Thursday. New Jersey’s not awful, but it’s not really a destination. I didn’t take any pictures though the Hackensack High School is pretty unique. It actually spans across First Street (first picture). I might be a bit distracted if I were in a class above a street.

Hackensack is the seat for Bergen County. Until Thursday, I’d never heard of Bergen County. But when I got home on Thursday night, The Colbert Report, as part of its 434-part “Know A District” series, interviewed Paul Arohsohn who is running for the House of Representatives in the district that includes Bergen County. Then on Saturday, I was reading a column in the newest National Review that stated that leading the nation in living longevity are Asian women living in Bergen County, NJ, who typically live to be 91. That’s more information on Bergen County than I’ll ever need.
