When Madysen went to the doctor to have her ankle examined and x-ray-ed, the form asked her to rate her pain from one to ten. She and Speed discussed whether she could claim a ten considering she didn’t have a broken femur or a nine considering this didn’t involve child birth. Holly was not amused.
I think she marked her pain down as a 4. No, they did not give her a half of a baby aspirin.
[...] We the collision happened, both of our airbags deployed, the smell of which was very unsettling to Holly. Once out of the car, Holly’s left wrist was really bothering her. The EMTs were fairly certain that the wrist was fractured, but she didn’t want them to take her to the ER. They looked at me as though I had a say in the decision. Finally, they prevailed upon her. (She rated her pain 5 out of 10 (and later 3), so it was less painful than a broken femur and childbirth.) [...]
