So with the end of the school year upon us, the kids have come home with their yearbooks, front and back insides filled with notes from teachers and fellow students.
In a curious decision, Emma decided to write every family member’s name in her yearbook. When Layla asked why, Emma answered, “So I wouldn’t forget them.” Layla commenced pestering Emma about how exactly she might forget the names of the very people she lives with; but Emma remained wedded to her original answer.
The inscriptions Layla collected are largely of the kind you’d expect to see. Lots of “Have a great summer!,” “You’re a great friend.,” “You are so funny!,” etc. There is, however, one mighty exception. You see, Layla has one ear, which piercing has been infected over the last week or so, and it actually looked pretty gruesome for a couple of days (“[She] got better.”). One boy’s entire inscription: “I think your skab [sic] is getting beter [sic].” He, Beau, shall forever be remembered in this household.
