A Family Reunion Is Fun–Every 24 Years [Family]

This past weekend, Holly’s grandmother’s family had a family reunion in Erick, OK. I know it’s easy to make fun of small town America (especially Oklahoma)–heck, I may have done it before–but the somewhat simpler life definitely has advantages. But before I get all teary-eyed waxing ecstatic, I will admit that I cannot imagine growing up in a small town.

Anyway, I was thoroughly surprised to find a wireless signal in the Erick High School cafeteria. Sure, it blocked a tremendous number of websites, but it did enable me to get some needed work done. I largely seeded the camera to Layla and Emma, which you might notice from the pictures. Of course, you might not notice any difference.

I think the kids favorite event of the weekend was the fireworks set off on Saturday night. This being Erick, Speed, Madysen, and several of their cousins–mostly the older cousins–set them off in the field across from the house. These were some pretty significant fireworks, too. The little girls were really impressed. Good times.

Let’s do it again in 2030 (the last one was in 1983)!
