A Year At Farmington [Farmington]

So it was a year ago Tuesday that we moved to Farmington and the kids started school here in the Park Cities. It’s been a good year. I definitely don’t miss the commute from the old house, and the schools and the community are a vast improvement as well.

And while I’d love to we all love having a pool, I just realized yesterday that Holly has yet to get in. Seriously. She’s never gotten more than her feet into the pool. I find this hard to understand. Since before Memorial Day, the kids and I get in several times a week. She says she’s waiting for it to get warm. I’m starting to think it may never get warm enough for her.

Anyway, today marks the official end of summer. Tomorrow is the first day of school for all the kids. Madysen will be a freshman at the high school; she is now a Scot. Speed will be a 7th grader at the middle school and starts football practice tomorrow. Emma and Layla, fresh back from Oklahoma via their first ever flight without an adult (Emma said: “We flew through and even over some the clouds!”), will start 1st and 3rd grades, respectively at their new school. New school because by the time we bought Farmington last year, their home school did not have room. This year, their in and excited about it. Should be a fun day.
