Through the first five games of the fall season, Madysen’s team is 0-2-2, including a disappointing loss on Saturday. It sure would be nice to get that first league win. But that was a tall order for last night’s game against Royal 93 given that Royal recently won the U-14 national championship. But that’s why they play the games, eh?

Madysen tries to get physical
White played pretty well and got a number of decent chances. It was quite simply a pretty entertaining game. About midway through the first half, Royal managed to get a goal. I can’t actually describe how it happened. It was just one of those somewhat innocuous plays when you suddenly realize that someone’s pulling the ball out of the back of the net. Royal held on 1-0.

No blood, no foul
Madysen played the majority of the game at left midfield. Though it’s really the first measurable time she’s really played out there, she did fine. She’s still trying to find her role on this team. Playing with the same girls for the last two years and in a system suited to her strengths meant she was accustomed to getting the ball in certain situations on a regular basis. So far, those situations have no played out the same way on this new team. But she’s doing fine and enjoying it.
Third picture down. That’s what we call a yellow card.
You must have played in some wimpy locale–southern Illinois, maybe? In Big D, it’s not even a foul.
