Activites Abound: What We Missed While On Our Nevis Vacation [Farmington]

You know, just because Holly and I go on vacation doesn’t mean the kids get a break. And it fell to Holly’s parents to navigate the crazy waters.

  • Saturday: Before PatPat and Papa even got to Dallas, Madysen had a league soccer game against FC Dallas 93. Last time the two teams played, Madysen lost 5-0. This time, they lost 2-0, so that’s an improvement. Still looking for that first league win.
  • Sunday: Layla had an Academy game against Cosmos 99G White, which they won 1-0. Emma had soccer practice and Speed had lacrosse tryouts for the 7th/8th grade fall tournament teams.
  • Monday: Layla had soccer practice, and Emma had gymnastics.
  • Tuesday: Madysen had soccer practice, and Speed had a football game against Sherman Piner Middle School. They lost 8-0.

  • Thursday: Emma had a soccer game, Layla had jazz class, and Madysen had soccer practice. In Emma’s game, she played goal in one quarter and might be charged with giving up the only goal against. I saw might because she has no recollection of the goal. She does know that they tied 1-1.
  • Friday: I think–miraculously–this was an open day. (Actually, Layla had an optional soccer practice, but sometimes enough is enough–and sometimes eight is enough!) Gluttons, they had Holly’ sister and brood came over for dinner.

  • Saturday: Again, nothing going on. What is going on here? We never get two days in a row off! The little girls did go swimming with Cousin Carli.

The kids definitely had fun. And the kids are very appreciative of the tree swings Papa got working in the front yard.
