I’m Older Than I Look: Madysen Turns Fourteen [Birthdays]

On Sunday, September 30, Madysen turned 14. Seriously, 14. That’s old. She’s getting to the point that she can’t get away with ordering from the children’s menu–significantly raising the cost of dining out. The horror.

Anyway, Happy Birthday, Madysen! Because Holly and I had just gotten back into town and there was much to on Sunday, she didn’t celebrate with friends–yet. So she opened her cards and presents from family.

Emma decorated one side of her and Layla's gift; "Happy Birthday Madysen" is written right to left and each letter is inverted--weird; the pot of gold is a nice touch

Layla's decorating went with a barrage of 14's

The birthday celebration was interrupted by Holly removing one of Emma’s tooth that has been loose for some time. Holly got it out 99%–with much writhing and whining from Emma–and Emma got it the rest of the way.

For her birthday meal, Madysen wanted mexican, so we went to Uncle Julio’s. Three of us eating of the adult menu? Aye carumba!

When we got home, Emma found some boots and a western shirt recently provided by her cousin, added her denim skirt, Holly’s new hat, and Speed’s new cap gun. One Halloween costume down, three to go.

Emma's got her gun!
