On Wednesday morning, Layla had a bike rodeo at school. (She didn’t ride her bike last year, since she just learned to ride her bike this summer.) She was pretty excited to participate this year.
Madysen was in a bike rodeo back when she was in 3rd grade. It was a competition with skills and judging, and I think she won. So I was expecting something similar here. They had an obstacle course set up with a straightaway, a ramp up and down, serpentine, and a figure eight. As I watched the various classes just ride through–with no one judging–I told Holly that this was going to take forever (I thought they were letting everyone ride through before the competition started). Holly–in her Chris-is-an-idiot voice–told me I was wrong. All they did was ride through. Awesome.
Making sure the bike is safe, I guess
Maybe my favorite thing is that about a third of the way through filming Layla’s ride, Holly asked: “Has she started yet?” Again, awesome.
