How Bout Them Cowboys (v. The Vikings)? [Football]

On Sunday afternoon, Speed and I attended the Dallas Cowboys games versus the Minnesota Vikings, courtesy of my firm. Speed brought along a friend named–naturally–Jet. Jet and Speed, doesn’t seem odd to me. (I had offered a ticket to trench–seeing that Romo is his boy–but he couldn’t get to Dallas in time.) This was Speed’s first Cowboys’ game, so it’s been quite a month of firsts for Speed.

Anyway, we had a heck of a time getting into a parking space, but once that was resolved, it was smooth sailing. Our seats were on the 50-yardline about 30 rows up. Very choice.

The Star from our seats

It was an exciting game to watch–the Cowboys made a ton of mistakes to make the game interesting, like two first-half fumbles that were returned by Minnesota for touchdowns (one was called back). Despite completely outplaying the Vikings, they were down 14-7 at half. During halftime, the boys wandered around and found funnel cake (um, funnel cake). The second half went better for the Cowboys and they managed a 24-14 win.

A fourth-down play late and ahead

It was fun to watch former Sooner Adrian Peterson run for the Vikings. And much of the crowd was excited to watch the Palestine, Texas native. He had only 12 carries for 63 yards (a 5+ yard/carry average) and 1 TD. But he definitely has “it.” Wish he was playing as a senior at OU.

While Trench appreciated the invite he just couldn’t make it in time. (By the way, is Trench and Speed a better sounding combination than Jet and Speed? Maybe.)

Instead, the Trench watched the game at a local BW3, with wings, drinks and a sweetheart. (Though my moon-eyes were only for Tony.)
