Holly is–to put it very mildly–no lover of domesticated animals. So we’ve never had a dog, cat, rabbit, pot-bellied pig, etc. (We have had a goldfish or two, a couple of betta fish, and some tiny turtles–but Holly was less than crazy about them.) So when Holly heard about a possible outbreak at school and then Layla came home last Friday scratching her head, Holly was none too keen on an infestation of buggies. But she gave Layla a once over (and quite possible and twice and third over (?)) and found nothing. Whew!
Of course, on Monday, both Layla and Emma were scratching and Holly’s review found what she dreaded–lice. So she went into full get-the-bugs-out mode. Washing everything, administering multiple medications, the works. Layla was pretty grossed out by it all. As for Emma, generally she is simultaneously petrified by and enamored with insects. But as to the lice, she was enamored by them. She kept track of all the nits Holly removed and, when done with that exercise, told Madysen and Speed in a John Travolta Saturday Night Fever stance: “I have lice!” That girl is odd.
Tuesday brought another round of washing, medicating, etc. It looks like Holly has them eradicated (fingers crossed!).
