On Friday evening, Madysen kinda officially launched her high school soccer career. It was only a scrimmage against (some pretty decent) alumni, and she was pulled up to the varsity team because of injuries and only played about the final 7-8 minutes. When she did finally enter the game, she–definitely the youngest player on the field–was matched up against the oldest–Madysen said she was fifty, I thought around 40. Funny to watch. The scrimmage ended 0-0.

Madysen and her much older counterpart
On Saturday afternoon, she had another scrimmage, this time with the junior varsity team and against McKinney Boyd. Madysen played pretty well with a couple of assists and some good corners. She played all but the last few minutes of the game. They won handily, at least 7-0.

Taking a corner

Admiring her handiwork

This corner was turned in to make it 2-0

This freekick goal made it 3-0

(The only other decent photo I took)
She turned around and played much of the first half of the varsity scrimmage, which they lost 3-0.
