So we had four soccer games this week, and for the first time in a long time I didn’t take a single picture. I think the kids see this as an improvement.
On Monday, Speed had another 7th grade game, this time against TCA. I got there late because of traffic, which is probably for the best considering Friday’s game, but Speed did score and they won 4-0. Then we rushed over to Layla’s indoor game. They beat the Cosmos 4-1. Nothing too exciting to report.
On Tuesday, Madysen had a JV game against Hebron. I was feeling poorly, so Holly attended the game solo. They lost 2-1 and reports are that Madysen did not have one of her finest games.
On Friday, Layla had another indoor game, this time against a Longhorns team. The game started out pretty even and was just a 1-0 deficit at half. But the opponent was a better side and eventually won 4-1. Layla played the whole game at defender and worked very hard.
Finally, on Sunday afternoon, Layla had another indoor game. They had played the opponent, Sting Academy North, before and lost handily, but they were actually ahead 1-0 about ten minutes into the game. But they got worn out and broken down from there. They lost 9-1, though Layla hustled throughout.
On aside, it looks like Layla may be giving up soccer. She tried out for a swim team on Thursday and would like to try lacrosse. We’ll see.
