You may recall–I realize you probably really don’t, but let’s continue–that last summer Layla, Emma, and I hosted a large group of people to see FC Dallas host the LA Galaxy, where Becks was a no-show. To make amends, FC Dallas put on a charity match with the LA Galaxy and Becks actually in attendance and playing on Saturday evening. So we took the whole family and several of the kids friends. Let me tell you, taking seven kids to a sporting event is both fun and inexpensive.

As for the game itself, it ended 0-0 and FC Dallas recorded zero shots on goal–all of which sounds pretty boring. Nevertheless, Becks took possibly 10 cornerkicks, had a couple of freekicks, and had a couple of picture perfect 40-yard passes. And he got into a bit of a fracas with several FC Dallas players. Not as boring as a scoreless game might otherwise be.
