It’s been a couple weeks since Speed had a lacrosse game–and in that game they handled St. Marks. In a rematch on Wednesday night, Speed was pretty confident that they would handle St. Marks again. Um, not so much. St. Marks won 6-3, leading comfortably throughout.

This might be the game during which one of my favorite conversations ever occurred. I’m standing on the sidelines with a couple other HP dads. One of the dads remarks to no one in particular: “These St. Marks people are so smug and uppity, it makes me sick.” He said this. As the parent of a child who lives in the Park Cities and goes to one of the top public high schools in the country and plays lacrosse and will probably get a Range Rover for his 16th birthday. To 99.9% of the general population, St. Marks and HP people are indistinguishable. That made my week.
