For some reason unknown to me, our girls have a hard time brushing their own hair. On more than one occasion, Layla has tangled her brush in her hair. Two years ago, when my mother was at the house, Madysen seriously wedged the brush deep in her hair. Mom spent quite a long time working on that.
Tuesday night, it was Emma’s turn. At first, she came down from her shower without combing her hair or brushing her teeth, so Holly sent her back upstairs. When she came down, the brush was stuck on her forehead. It’s quite amazing how the decide to brush down while twirling the brush circularly and twisting it sideways; just to be clear, I do not advise this.
Holly worked at it for thirty plus minutes before she was able to free the brush–taking more than an insignificant amount of hair out of Emma’s head too.

After Holly finally freed the brush, Emma was heading upstairs for bed. She turned to Holly with the brush again hanging in her hair: “Mom, look! . . . Just kidding.”
On Wednesday afternoon, Emma was still complaining that her head was sore from the hair that had been removed.
