I think I was a little apoplectic when Madysen turned 13 a couple of years ago (to the extent one can be a little apoplectic). And then that was ratcheted up a notch when she was a high school freshman and turned 14. You might expect that this is old hat by now.
Wrong! She turned 15 on Tuesday and will soon be driving with a learners permit, I’m at Defcon 2.
Anyway, on Tuesday night, we went to a little dinner (since Speed was in Sherman at his football game) and opened her presents. Madysen wanted Italian, and after a number of painful discussions, she decided on Patrizio’s in Highland Park Village. It was fine; the girls liked their dishes–Emma especially liked the bread and butter.
Once home, Madysen opened her presents; watching Emma’s and Layla’s excitement, you would have thought it was their birthdays.

What's with hugging the pillow?

Open mine, each said

Madysen's fleece jacket is so soft
Then we sang “Happy Birthday” and had cupcakes and ice cream-again, without Speed.

That's a dangerous number of candles on one cupcake

Cool smoke

Yummy!
Too cap it all off, Emma and Layla sang and danced for Madysen:
