Swimming is Hard: Layla’s First Swim Meet [Layla]

Three months after first jumping into a competitive swimming pool, Layla her first swim meet yesterday. Warmups started at 8 a.m. in Allen, which meant an early morning for Layla and I. Since this was our first meet, we had no idea what was happening from one second to the next. In fact, the acoustics were so bad and the information so sparse that she almost missed her heat.

But she didn’t. She swam the 50M breaststroke and did fine. I thought that she was going to hate it, but she rated it a 6 or 7 on the 1-10 awesomeness scale.

Okay Dad, it’s really hard swimming when YOUR PARENTS SIGNED YOU UP! I didn’t want anything to do with swimming.

And I’m pretty sure I rated it a 4 or a 5 at the most.
