On Saturday morning–very early Saturday morning–the Park Cities Y held the 4th Grade Track Meet. Layla did just fine in the 3rd Grade meet last year but was hoping to show improvement.

Her first event was the long jump. She did fine but did not finish in the top 7 of the meet.

Her first track event was the 100-yard dash. She handily won her heat but did not reach the finals (they only took the top 8 times from the 10+ heats).

Her last event of the day was the 50-yard dash. She finished her heat in second place but again did not make the finals. She is in lane 4.
I know she was a little disappointed that she didn’t make it to the finals of any event, but she did well regardless.
