Recital Time!: Layla Dances Again [Dance]

Late May is always recital time for Layla. You may recall that she is a great little ballerina but has yearned to leave it behind for more modern dance, namely hip hop. So the compromise is she takes ballet and jazz. You may be thinking that’s not much of a compromise on our front, but we are the big people.

Anyway, last Saturday was the dress rehearsal. And we had plenty of company around to see it. Nana came up for the day, and Pat Pat and Grandma Flossie were already in town, so they all made it. I wasn’t able to go to the rehearsal, but from the looks of this picture (notice Holly’s death grip on Layla’s arm in the first one), Layla wasn’t overly enjoying herself.

On Sunday evening was the big event. First, her ballet performance.
