Last Thursday night was a busy night at the house. In addition to Layla’s multiple dance classes, Speed was back on the football field after a couple of weeks off, playing against Newman Smith. They won 40-0. Speed says he had about 6 tackles, but Holly didn’t see him do anything. Sometimes I wonder if she really shows up and watches the games.
Meanwhile, I was off with Madysen in far, far, far, far, far north Dallas for just her second league game of the fall. Her first league game, against Sting 93, was over 3 weeks ago (and they lost handily 4-0). Oddly, this game was again against Sting 93–and it went much, much better.
Which puts me in an awkward situation since it went well while I was not videotaping the game. My superstitions make me seriously question further taping.
As for what actually happened. Madysen scored in the first 7-8 minutes on a nice play beating a couple of defenders and then dribbling around the keeper. Maybe her best goal ever. Thereafter, Sting had the majority of chances the rest of the game, though it wasn’t too lopsided. And they got an equalizer late in the first half. Game ended 1-1, which is a pretty good result.
