You may recall that Emma played volleyball last fall. And that Holly coached her one and only season–still sad. Nevertheless, Emma pressed on and played with the Volley Girls. And it was surprising how much progress they had made from fall to spring. (Could it be the coaching?) Serving was much better and there were occasional volleys. They finished in third place for the regular season with a 5-2 record.

Service!

I only made one game, so my photo library is limited
There regular season standing put them as the third season in the post-season tournament. They won their quarterfinal game over the Maroon Spikers but lost in the semis to fellow Bradfield team, Spike Girls. It was a very close game with Spike Girls winning 18-16 in the third game.
Emma had fun, but I won’t be surprised if she doesn’t play again. I think the tournament got a little more intense that she cared for.
(The butter title comes from the coaches’ tip to churn butter as their bump motion. Not sure that any of them know anything about churning butter, but whatever.)
