Back in mid June, the kids made their annual summer trek down to Houston to stay with my parents (though Speed missed it for the first time because of fitness camp). As detailed by my mother, they did ceramics, went bowling, and saw a movie.
For the weekend, Speed and I met up with the group at the home-in-the-middle-of-nowhere (Madysen went back to Dallas to work). I had some pretty cool pictures of the deer skeleton Emma was fascinated by, but they were lost in the iOS4 iPhone upgrade process that went really, really poorly. So these pictures and video are courtesy of Ma.
The little girls were super stoked that my parents had cleared a bunch of trees–mostly because that meant they were able to drive the mule around the entire property. That rates as a big deal.

More new drivers?
Steak dinners at the Leona General Store is always satisfying.

A weekend in the country is incomplete without shooting guns. .22s for everyone!

And for the coup-de-grace, Speed and Ezra were shooting off a rocket. The plan was to (try to) shoot it down on the last time. Needless to say, it didn’t go well.
