For the many years that Layla’s been dancing, May means the big recital, where all the hard work (and fun) is put on display. Hard to believe it’s been six years since the first one in 2004. (2005, 2006 (including a singular performance by Emma), 2007, 2008, 2009.)
So on May 23, at the Majestic Theatre downtown, she had her big day. This was the end of her first year at Power House Dance, and it was a good one. Five classes a week with four of them performing on this day.
The first performance was the Junior Power Dancers, who already had performed at a Christmas Tree lighting, the mall on the busiest day of the year, a minor league baseball game, among other things.
Anyway, here’s the video of all four performances. Generally speaking, Layla is in the front and in the center or to the right in each number.
